South African artist and gallery owner since 1981, Kevin Stanley is a self taught and full time artist now living in Newlands, Cape Town. He is a member of the South African Art Society and has a vast and impressive collection of artworks readily available, but also undertakes commission work.

Kevin was a Johannesburg-based art dealer before moving to Cape Town, where he started art classes in Pinelands, he then started the Hout Bay Gallery in 1986. After moving to farm in the Small Karoo for ten years he moved to the UK where he started a gallery in Sedbergh (Cumbria) and in Guernsey (Channel Islands). He moved back to South Africa in 2009 and opened his last gallery in Marina da Gama (Cape Town).

Kevin Stanley’s impressionist canvases reflect the colourful richness of nature, so lend to lifestyle art, bringing the outside to interiors; with seascapes for waterside and beach living to a fundamental country look of vast Karoo horizons. He has lived and farmed in the Karoo, where he was influenced by the scale of the horizon and miniaturization of man. His love of the beach scenes comes the life and light of the coast as he is spiritually inspired by the elements.
